My main focus was on fighting or trying to combat malnutrition in peri urban area of Masvingo district. This entailed screening children under five years of age for malnutrition. If one has malnutrition counselling would be given to the parent and lessons on proper nutrition also conducted. Depending on wether the child has moderate or severe acute malnutrition, ready to use therapeutic food or ready to use supplementary foods would be given for home treatment. The position also involved educating community leads like the village heads on what malnutrition is and how to handle members of community so there is no discrimination. Training on integrated management of malnutrition and young infact and child feeding were done. The position also involved screening for malnutrition of pregnant mothers
